The Holy Spirit Studies
Although the dove is often used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, this is generally misleading.
His appearance as a 'dove' at Christ's baptism symbolized to John the new beginning in Jesus Christ,
just as in the Genesis record the dove of Noah had indicated a new beginning for humanity after the world Flood.
— But the 'dove' does not represent His eternal nature; nor the character of His personal relationship to individual Christians —
The human relationship to the Holy Spirit, as in Jesus Himself, is the new beginning for all humanity!
The dove takes its meaning from that of Noah as sign of the new beginning, which is what the relationship of Jesus to the Spirit, given to ALL believers on the Day of Pentecost, is...

 Christ's statement to the Jewish Pharisees "...the kingdom of God is in your midst" (Luke 17:21 Literal)
[NOT 'in you' as the American Standard Version erroneously translates] is actually a reference to
the immediate total authority of the Spirit of God through the man Jesus,
which is the "mystery of the kingdom"
in contrast to the long prophesied physical coming of the kingdom through
the yet future reign of Israel's Messiah (what Christians call the Second Coming).
Concerning the
incarnation of God in Jesus Christ to be our personal example, the messianic prophecy of Him says –
"He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head ...
... for He will come like a rushing stream, which the Wind of the LORD [the Holy Spirit] drives." 
This is the basis of the Apostle Paul's description in Ephesians 6:10-18 (NOT a Roman soldier's equipment as often erroneously preached)		 Isaiah 59:17-19

Concerning the
'fruit' of the Holy Spirit (the Wind of the Lord), it has been well said that –
 kindness is a language that the dumb can speak;   it is a language the deaf can hear.

Serious Warnings:
* The spiritual revival which spread throughout Wales in 1904 through the spiritual obedience of Evan Roberts and which led in part to the development of the modern Pentecostal/Charismatic movement in the history of the Christian Church, lost the ministry of Even Roberts due to the spiritual sabotage by Mrs Jesse Penn-Lewis through her heretical teaching of a dualist/dichotomy between spirit and matter (arising from the ancient pagan Neoplatonist Greek view), which therefore
labeled 'speaking in tongues' and other physical phenomena or physical awareness of the Holy Spirit as directly demonic.
This corrupt teaching is still spread today through her book 'War on the Saints', often marketed by 'Send the Light Trust'.

* The perverse Seventh-day Adventist teaching — that the modern Charismatic/Pentecostal movement is a deceptive conspiracy of Jesuits to bring Protestants into Catholicism and that the False Prophet of the Book of Revelation "making fire come down from heaven" (Rev.13:13) is the Charismatic 'speaking in tongues' inspired by Satan – is nothing less than a blasphemous lie
based on very dishonest exegesis of Holy Scripture and a feeding on fictitious 'Freemason' conspiracy theories.

The Bible richly expresses the ways and the character of God.
That is its purpose – so that we trust Him beyond our understanding.
But, although there can never be a contradiction between Holy Scripture and the Spirit of God, for God is consistent,
God is not confined to the revelation of Holy Scripture for He is its author. He is beyond limit of anything but His own nature!

Remember: if Satan cannot stop a real move of the Holy Spirit in Christ's people, he will simply join it —
to subvert and subtly misdirect it over time, as Church history has sadly demonstrated. (Matthew 10:16)
...being 'as wise as serpents'... ~ If you wish to be led by the Spirit of God – then simply follow the affections of God – and you will be right on-track with Him! ~ ...and 'as harmless as doves'...
