The Gift of the Word of Wisdom

Bible

In
contrast to the Word of Knowledge, which tells 'what', the Gift of the Word of Wisdom tells 'how'. It is orientated toward problem solving.

It gives supernatural wisdom as to what to do about a given situation, or how to resolve a situation: it is the 'how to' of the gifts of the Holy Spirit's ministry.

"For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit..." 1 Corinthians 12:8
It
was by such a supernatural word of wisdom that Paul went up to Jerusalem to enlist the agreement of that church concerning the character of his message to the Gentiles:

"I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain." Galatians 2:2
This
action of Paul therefore helped forestall an attack of Satan through the most influential group of Christians at that time against the awesomely significant evangelistic mission which the Lord had laid upon the Apostle Paul.

It
is important to remember that God packages His wisdom concerning a problem within that particular problem. Therefore, avoiding the problem is to avoid or move away from the 'address' to which the solution is being sent.

Human
nature often simply wants to be rescued from a difficult circumstance. This attitude inhibits faith and therefore it hinders the answer which the Gift of Wisdom gives to that specific problem. Faith in God concerning that problem by addresssing it is therefore most often a necessary prelude to the functioning of this precious grace Gift of Wisdom .

In our Old Testament, Modecai illustrates this spiritual principle. Modecai triggered the problem in the book of Esther and Mordecai was the persistent pursuader who brought an answer greater than the problem.
