| Her | husband had contacted her pastor in desperation. His wife, the precious mother of his two children, had begun repeatedly waking up at night in terror from a nightmare that she could not remember anything of when she was awake. | |
| On one occasion, she had jumped out of bed screaming and run out of the house and down the street in her nightclothes in terror. Her husband had run after her and managed to calm her down and walk her back to their home without drawing public attention. | ||
| In response to their call for help, their pastor went to visit the lady, taking a trusted woman from the church with him to support the woman with the problem. | ||
| The pastor knelt with her in prayer and asked God for guidance in identifying the cause of her problem. While the three, the pastor, the counselee, and the assisting lady, waited on God for guidance in an attitude of worship. | ||
| As they did so, the Lord indicated to her pastor that the root cause of the problem could not be revealed, for its disclosure to this dedicated mother would cause her more damage than the symptoms from which she was suffering. | ||
| Consequently, her pastor asked the counselee, whom he knew was able to prayer in 'tongues' in her private devotions, to bring her problem to God fully in prayer in that manner (in 'tongues' prayer) audibly right then and there, without needing to definite it mentally, as he and the supporting lady laid hands upon her in identification with her in prayer. She did so and their time of prayer concluded with thanksgiving to God for His mercy. | ||
| All symptoms of the problem disappeared completely from the day without their cause ever being ascertained by anyone. | ||
| The pastor was unsure whether the obsessive hysterical behaviour involved a demonic contamination, but others thought it had. | ||
| Nevertheless, he did suspect that some deep childhood trauma had caused profound damage at an unconscious level which had now begun to vent itself in her life as a mother with her own children, and that God had considered it wise that its particular cause was too sensitive an issue for it to be added to her conscious memory through its exposure in the healing process. | ||
| The wisdom of God's love is awesome! |
